Can a private lake ociation be sued for damage to a vehicle for not maintaing Roads?

I have property at a private lake and the esments are suppose to be for the roads and yet nothing is being done to them. You cannot drive on the roads without hitting potholes and recently the front end of both my wife's and My vehicles have went bad and now I have to get them both fixed. Is there anything I can do?
