Why are people in Lima, OH so rude?

I moved here a few years ago and I just can't seem to wrap my head around this. You try and be nice to people here and they just scowl and give you some sort of foul attitude. Don't they realize that you can catch more flies with honey? Oh well, I'm still a believer in killing people with kindness, lol
