Why spend billions for a war for oil when we could make friends with our southern Mexican brothers?

You make a very good point. Along with Mexico, we could simply tell the environmental wackos here to shut up and sink more wells in the Gulf, off the coast of California, and in Alaska. We would need no more middle eastern oil. Or middle eastern wars.
