Will my school work with me and my disorder?
I have been recently diagnosed with a chronic illness; hypothyroidism, with severe symptoms, and I currently am having problems with my blood sugar and under stress. I am in college and have missed 3 days of school so far, but I am keeping up with my homework somehow, and I have good grades. Yesterday I went to school and was sent home because I had the beginning of a hypoglycemic attack. My professor was understanding and worried. I'm afraid I will be dropped if I miss more days, but I can get the work done from home and I communicate with professors by email. I can't help it if I am sick though, and I don't think I should give up school and ruin the quality of my life because of it. I would be devastated if I get dropped. Am I an exception because I am truly sick right now? and do you think they will work with me? I already have to give up my part time job for now.
